German Tree Update?
It looks like they just updated the German tree. The differences include wie geht's, mir geht's gut, keine ahnung, alles klar, and a bunch of others.
Edit: Sorry, tried editing it so I could put in all of the new ones, but when I switched tabs it kept reloading and deleting all of my progress. :(
Yes! Finally got the new tree update! I've been waiting so long!
32 new skills
72 new lessons
... Time to win my golden owl back!
Yes, and I was getting close to the end of my tree. Now it looks like I have a longer way to go!
Same here. Guess we just pull our socks up and enjoy the slightly longer journey :)
Yes, after a long layoff I was rolling right along, then today my tree lit up like a Christmass tree. Oh well, the more Duolingo can teach me, the better for me. Come on Duo, bring it on...
Perfect! I was hoping to re-guild stuff after I came back from Montreal. Now I have a reason other than "everything is almost 100% decayed."
so thrilled by this new update. was about to switch language focus back to German (the language I'm best in besides english - only language I've had actual schooling in, etc) in honor of an upcoming trip to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and Cologne. I've finished the old tree, but this will certainly help a lot!!!
So far, I've hit several of the things I supposedly need to learn again, and have seen nothing I didn't know. I went through all of the additions you mentioned in the "Introductions" section, then went onto tell Duo about 10 times that my name is Julia when I tested out of another section.
That's strange...mine doesnt. When was the last time you went into your german tree?
The German tree was updated for 50% of old users and 50% of new users last year, so I presume that everyone has it now.
You likely already had it, if not, you'll get it soon. At the bottom of the tree, if you have a skill called "Rel. Pron." right above "Politics 2" then you have the new tree.
You can find screenshots here: How to: Check if you have the updated German Tree!
Doesn't really look like any important updates. Then again I'm only 60% completed.
A similar thing happened to me. I do not really get it why this kind of a recap is better than just to strengthen already completed skills - a thing I have hitherto got used to do with Duolingo.
Moreover, it seems that some skills that appear now uncompleted I know better than some of the skills that still remain completed. I have not found this update particularly good.
I investigated this a bit, and now I just start to understand...
This might have been self-evident for the most people, but it was not for me so I write it here. Duolingo apparently made an update where some new words were added to those lessons that now appear as uncompleted. So in order to make us users to learn those skills we need to learn the lessons including those new words.
Initially, I thought that this was some sort of new way for Duolingo to make us refresh our fatigued skills and thus the slightly dissatisfied tone in my previous message as I understood the update wrong.
EDIT: All this is explained in christian's comment.
I think I've finished the lesson of Duolingo, when I will practice again seems Duo extend the lesson. But I am happy because it deepens my knowledge, although still struggling. Well happy learning ☺
I had just finished the tree a couple weeks ago and was keeping it gold. Now there are more than 70 new lessons to go before I can complete the tree again... Hopefully the new lessons will include practical items that will be of some value...I don't really mind if this turns out to be the case.
