Did anyone just get their French tree updated?
I hear that their might be an update to the French tree. Is this true? We have three duolingo accounts in our family, and none of us see an update to the tree.
I must admit, I Iike the idea of losing my duo owl and having new things on the tree to complete.
If you do have an updated tree, what differences do you notice?
I've still got my owl, but it isn't gold--29 branches to strengthen, I had it down to 25 last night but Duo added 5 this morning.
My streak in French is not that good and my tree is not golden as it used to be when I made it a week ago. Currently mine has 78 skills (out of the optional ones) and the latest one is Spiritual.
Mine didn't get updated, but I hope it does! Granted, we may have to re-gold some stuff or totally redo lessons, but I don't mind if it's an improvement. Oh how I hope the Duo robots are changed for better pronunciation. :-)
I did my lessons and, not unusually, decided to do some more later. In that interval I had been changed to the new French tree. I am desperately looking for information about using the tree. There must be a limit to how many times one can be expected to type Je suis une fille. So far, it seems endless! Worse, my brain was so numb that I made an error. It now seems that having completed 6 very basic lessons, they want 18(?!) more on lesson 1. Yikes! Tu es un garçon. Je suis un homme. Tu es une femme. And 'et', luckily. The word boxes are back, happily. But this may be a serious threat to sanity if I cannot find some 'skip forward at some point' instructions.
What I do is just complete the first 2 levels of each branch as I am going down the tree until branch #78, the last branch comes up. Then go up to level 5 (gold) for branch #78, then branch #77, then branch #76. The advantage of doing the most bottom branch first to the gold level, is you get the most vocabulary and grammar on the most bottom branches.
No. Mine wasn't. Where did you hear the news?
I think it would be awesome. I'm bored of repeating the same old stuff.
Someone recently started a thread called, "My completed tree Trophy has gone." she was talking about her French tree.
It now sounds like a computer glitch. But her post got me hoping.
nope, sorry :( Even through they should update the course since its old, most of the contributors are inactive. (I think)
