De ce este rău "Tu nu pari urât"? Mulțumesc.
Pentru că verbul a pare înseamnă to seem. În contextul asta verbul to look se traduce așa.
I have the same question as Pablo but don't yet understand the answer in Romanian!
Because the verb "a pare" means " to seem". In this context the verb "to look" it is translated so.
Surely "Tu nu arăți urâtă!" should be accepted?
Is nu arăți urâtă! wrong?
I think it is right, but I'm just learning.
It isn't wrong, but urâtă is feminine. They should accept it also.
when do I use voi vs tu? I thought they were interchangeable
So far I have been taking tu to be singular and voi plural, i don't know if like in French voi could be polite to a senior or stranger and tu more familiar and parents or elders to children so I'm playing it safe with singular plural.
My answer, "Voi nu arătați urâte," was not accepted. Since I used the plural form for "voi", "arăta" and "urât", I don't see where I went wrong.
"Voi nu arătați urâte" is correct both grammatically and as a valid translation.
Did you try "Voi nu arătați urâți" ? - maybe there is some gender bias in place :)
Voi nu arătați urâți" wasn't accepted for me; I reported it.
So no gender bias, only the number of non-ugly persons is under question. Thank God. Mulțumesc lui Dumnezeu.
