Why is selbst necessary in this sentence?

Cook for your-self Koche für dich-selbst

"Selbst" = "self"

why is "koche" not "Kochen" instead? I perceived this sentence as "Kochen (Sie) für dich selbst"

Koche is the second person singular form. "Koche (du)"

There are three imperative forms, one for "du", one for "ihr" and one for "Sie"

Although isn't the -e often ommitted in the "du"-imperative
