When asked to translate what I hear, there is NOTHING on the audio.
I know my lap top is working because I get the "ping" every time I type in a correct translation either Spanish or English. BUT, when asked to listen and translate what I hear there is absolutely no sound. I hear NOTHING, what is wrong?
That sounds like slightly less-than-perfect internet access. Duolingo downloads parts of the lesson as it goes along, and if it can't get at some of the files, that can happen. It might be worth checking that Adblock Plus, or a software firewall, or something, isn't stopping the connections to the servers - not all of Duolingo's data comes from duolingo.com - a lot of it comes from Amazons Web Services.
Maybe, but I have mine on PC, tablet and phone and each one is different. PC is the one that has more options but it's the one that looses sound.
I don't know for certain how to fix your problem, but here are ideas.
Use a different browser.
Close/reopen your current browser.
Clear the cache/history on your current browser.
Go to settings and disable the "use speakers" option. (this will keep the listening exercises from being presented to you; it won't fix the problem)
I am having the same problem, and nothing I try works. My speakers do work, but apparently not with this program. I love the program otherwise.
i have the same problem so my audio doesn't work when Duolingo pronounce phrases or sentences. I tried all the tips below but the problem is always present
same, help please someone. Has only been doing this since this morning. I am on iOS. My music plays, other sounds are working...
