My streak hit 600 days today!

However, much like when I hit 500 days, in some ways I don't feel fully satisfied with that number. It feels like I cheated to get it there, even though I didn't. The past 200 days of these 600 were often spent not learning, and just reaching the bare minimum XP. This was in part due to a difficult Japanese class that drained my energy and part due to interest in other activities and stresses in life.

However, the past few days I have had renewed vigor for learning languages by tying languages and my interest in writing together, and I look forward to spending more time on Duo!

I hope you have a great day.

Congratulations! I'm almost at 100 days again. I'd be at 200, but I lost my streak because I went to the hospital.

I would say that unless you are doing the minimum in each of your 6 languages every day, you don't really have a 600 day streak. The purpose of DL tracking your streak is to emphasize the point that continuous daily practice of a language is necessary to maximize and reinforce learning. If you practice one language Monday, another language on Tuesday, and a third language on Wednesday, then you are not engaging in the best learning practice. DL should maintain a streak per language

I remember streaks being per language in the past.

The reminder Emails also imply that this used to be the case.

They do.
The user script "DuoTweak" can display the individual language streaks even on the web interface.
If you have multiple target L2 courses listed on the right for your current L1 source/base language, you can see those multiple language streaks.

I have read that the mobile apps might also show this course language streak (I have not verified on Android on Bluestacks@Windows).

Reaching the bare minimum is still learning something. Much better than not doing one! Congratulations Rockerbox0! :-)

Hey congrats! And don't feel guilty about not putting an awful lot of effort into it, just keeping up a streak for that long is quite a commitment. Believe me I know.
