"A mulher veste meias compridas."

Translation:The woman wears long socks.

February 26, 2013

I am left wondering whether the Beta speakers include women's long stockings (though these are nearly obsolete in the UK, they all wear tights) .Duolingo rejects "stockings" , so does "meias compridas" mean "knee socks" and that alone?

I put in stockings and it was corrected as stockings. I would say they're still in use so it's worth learning, although they are not really used by women :D

Meia - sock ○ Meia comprida - long sock/knee sock/long stocking ○ Meia-calça - tights/pantyhose.
