What tree version is the current French tree?
I was wondering what version the French tree is. Is it still version 1?
I believe it's version 2. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I heard the German tree is version 3.
Yes, it's version 2. However changes occur almost every day and new sentences are added on a regular basis.
What we have not changed is the structure of the tree (number and order of skills), or the list of words taught (no addition), or the number and content of Bonus skills. Such changes could be implemented in a new Tree version.
Thanks, Sitesurf, what is the chance of us having a new tree? and what do you think the timeline would be? It would be nice if the tree pushes us all the way to B2-C1.
Just as a suggestion, I think it would be great if certain modules could be skipped (if not "for good", then at least during the passage of a few other modules). For example, I'm honing my old high school French for a trip in late May, and right now I'm at "Irr. Plur." and "People" on the tree - which is great - but soon after comes "Past Imp." and "Cmp. Past" on the tree. As important as those would be for long-term French learning, I have no illusions that I'm going to learn past tense conjugations between now and late May for my trip, whereas it'd be much more useful to skip to "Directions", "Numbers2", or some other modules.
I realize this may be hard to implement, due to exercise sentences ... which is why I realize that even the best implementation might be to only skip one or two modules, for just a level or two. But the added flexibility would be really great.
I'm not sure. I have heard version 2. I have been here for almost 2 years, and to my knowledge it hasn't been updated in that amount of time.
Yes. Sometimes the contributors will update the tree with new content, but it doesn't happen very often
