Fantastic Russian Resource Intended for Children
Everything has audio files of a real Russian native, complete with games, questions, homework exercises, picture books, etc.
Many people ask for Russian books, shows, etc targeted at small children. I found this website, this is a google translation of what they say on the "about the project" page: The current stage of development of language education is characterized by extensive use of educational Internet resources that significantly stimulate cognitive interest and allow for operational monitoring and control, create a positive emotional perception of educational material. One such resource is the website of a special "Russian language for our children", posted on the portal of the Russian language Institute. Of A. S. Pushkin. This website was created to support educational activities in the Russian language in foreign schools, and Russian schools with a large proportion of students of a foreign language.
This is the rest of the website, which is pretty great too. It is aimed at adults. I think this section introduces new concepts compared to the child section, which just allows you to practice them.
Thank you very much for posting this. It is a great site, from what I've seen so far. It looks like it runs the gamut from beginner level to advanced. The audio from the children's level (Заходер verse, etc.) is well read and nice and slow, for instance, the descriptions of the differently graded courses are in English, while much of the advanced material is C2 level Russian, all depending on what you need.
Have you tried any of the online courses?
The Pushkin adult course seems very comprehensive, but that could be a bad thing for some people as it could just slow you down. It also took a very long time to load the audio files in each lesson when I don't have that problem for anything else.
Various parts of the site are sometimes really slow to load. I've signed up for an adult course, after taking the sites sort of "placement test" but haven't started the actual course yet. I am definitely not fond of doing electronic courses, so we'll see how it goes.
Thank you for the link. I am a beginner and it was pretty humiliating what I could not understand, but I did look up a lot of useful everyday words. I did well on the animals game though. I was so proud of myself, although a 3 year old Russian child would probably blow me away. The audio had a bug on that page, is the site new?
I have a goal now to be able to do all the "games"! начать игру!
I saw the site a while ago and forgot about it, it seems they're adding more content and redesigning the layout
Such great resources!! You never know what it will be before you click it, but this was well worth it. Thank you for sharing!!!
