Does anyone have any recommendations for good Swedish novels to read? (More suitable for a male)
This site seems to have a lot of books http://www.bokus.com but I want to be sure before I ordered anything.
I've heard 'Låt den rätte komma in' although I am not really into vampires.
I'll be more interested in an action novel or crime. I don't mind horror either.
I've read the first few books of the Kurt Wallander series by Henning Mankell, albeit I read their German translations, and they were thoroughly entertaining reads, with a good balance of crime, mystery and action. I can recommend the first book, "Mödare utan ansikte" as a good starting point. Next time I'm in Sweden I have to pick it up in the original Swedish version myself to also have a book to read to improve my Swedish.
Search for "Lättläst för vuxna" . There are several publishers with easy reading books in Swedish. Maybe some of them have a webstore?
Camilla Läckberg, Anna Jansson, Lars Kepler etc are good authors in Sweden. They write about crime fiction.
