Couldn't this also be He went two days without food. The translation provided does not really make sense in english

"Being fascinated with nature, he immediately ran off and into the woods and stayed there two days without food and water". It's confusing without context, but I think it's legit.

If they added 'there' into the translation it would make sense. Without it though it sounds strange and no one would say that in english. Your example does make sense, but that still changed the translation that is given here by adding 'there' to it.
