This is terrible. The best answer (and one of the dictionary hints) is 'longer shoes'. 'Taller shoes' is okay when talking about a woman's high heels. Higher just doesn't work at all though.
Agree. I put "high heels", which makes a ton more sense and was accepted on some similar questions. Why isn't it here?
It is comparative. It has to be "higher". "Higher heels" should be ok.
Can you say "Your high shoes do not fit you any more?"
(I am Italian but I know the answer)
hoch = high
höher = higher
That's why the text says "higher".
Why not taller shoes? Same thing.
