A few selected artists.

For hiphop fans: (Band) Die Fantastischen Vier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9LqElWQZr0

For rock fans: (Band) Die Toten Hosen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j09hpp3AxIE

Another one for the rock fans: (Band) Die Ärzte https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cIW1n3oP_g

For metal fans: (Band) Die Apokalyptischen Reiter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7RLodJ9E50

For everyone else: (Band) Silbermond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R7gIvMbzMU

Each of these bands has many more songs. Fantastischen Vier is likely the most succesful german hiphop band from the last 20 years. Both die Toten Hosen and die Ärzte are both very very famous bands here (even when you could argue that theyre not rock, but more like punk, but this depends on each song of them). Each of those 2 produces music for over 20 years. Die apokalyptischen Reiter is one of the more popular german metal bands, but there are some that are more famous. Silbermond is a very successful pop band (its like a soft rock band or whatever they should be called). Their music is usually playing a lot in the radio when you drive in your car.

I'm in love with Silbermond. Great songs and easy to understand. Revolverheld is another band worth checking out.

If you listen to music via Spotify, it has top 50 charts by country. I noticed a bunch of them are not German artists, and if the artist is not available to play (licensing issues, etc.), they still have the names of the artist and song. There are many playlists people have created with German artists.

I really like Die Sterne, Madsen, and Olli Schulz. I get on Spotify and listen through similar artists every time I find something I like.
