I've reported that my answer 'a tip' should be allowed, I think it's a suitably equivalent word, what do others think?

Hmm, does 'a tip' cover the same amount of dirt as a 'a dump', or is it just very untidy...?

this one could run and run! I think of them as about the same, but that's vernacular for you...

What is the literal translation?

"Is the office yn hole of place" or, slightly less literally and more grammatically, "The office is a hole of a place".

twll is a hole and lle is a place.

I wish they'd offer the literal translation! It's very confusing otherwise

Just learn it as:

  • twll o le - a dump

With idiomatic expressions such as this there is little point in learning the individual bits - it doesn't often help with the idiomatic meaning at all. You can always look up individual words in one of the on-line or app dictionaries that we recommend.
