"Limba Marii Britanii este engleza."

Translation:The language of Great Britain is English.

April 5, 2017

Is it usual of a compound word to be declined in all their components?

The only official languages of the United Kingdom are English and (in Wales) Welsh. Great Britain as an island does not have official languages. There are other spoken languages like Gaelic and Manx (on the Isle of Man)

I was coming here to say something along those lines

Inaccurate. The languages of Great Britain include English, Welsh, Scots, Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic.

Technically, Great Britain doesn't include Northern Ireland as it refers to the island. Though "Britain" is used to refer to full country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island and (I think) the Channel Islands. So no Irish Gaelic I don't think.

Left the extra i off mari and britani and it still marked it correct - is extra i on both aways needed?
