That translation is now accepted. However, I don't really think it's good English. If "nor" is going to appear in a sentence with another negative word, it ought to be "neither." With "don't" I think only "or" fits.

So the valid options here would be:

  • They neither write nor study/read
  • They don't write or study/read

(+ present continuous versions)

I can't speak to relevant Swahili aspects, however.

They accept "they don't write nor read" but not with or instead of nor. I'm a native English speaker and I literally never use nor. "Or" should be accepted.
