I have a friend from Rwanda who is learning to speak English. She's really intelligent but the learning process is slowed by her busy schedule. Any chance of seeing a Duolingo course for Kinyarwanda to English?
Have a look at this post about how to suggest a language course: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/15014194. The moderators keep a list on that page of courses that have been suggested. English for Kinyarwanda speakers hasn't been suggested yet. I'll leave a message on jrikhal's stream and ask him to add this to the list.
You might want to read [GUIDE] I would like a new course: What should I do?
And Swahili is an African language course that is available.
well, technically English, French and Arabic are also African Languages.
l'Afrique c'est chic
Thank you very much! I wanted to post in here in case anyone had other ideas to add.
Maybe your Rwandan friend speaks French, it's one of Rwanda's official languages. If so, she could take the French to English course.
ps. You can see all the courses that already exist, as well as those that are being developed, here: https://incubator.duolingo.com/
Yes, please! I'm helping a family of refugees learn English and would love to be able to speak with them in their native language.
I was wondering the same thing. Looks like up votes are winning now, though.
I'm a big fan of Immaculee Ilibagiza's books, and whenever I read a book about other cultures I want to study everything I can about those cultures, so I wouldn't mind an English to Kinyarwanda course either.
