How do I pronounce Danish words?

I am learning Danish with my friends and we are all having trouble with pronouncing and understanding Danish. Are there any rules or things to help us understand and be able to actually say the words? Thanks!

i am also having some trouble, but I am just trying to follow how it sounds on duolingo. many times when the word has a 'd' in it, it sounds like 'l' to me. g sounds like y...but only sometimes... lol do you have the speaker/mic option turned on?

thanks, yah i listen to how the words are pronounced, but it gets confusing when they sometimes don't pronounce letters.

That's Danish for you how they don't pronounce the letters much. And d's in the middle or end are soft. Anyway, I hope this will help you http://www.pronunciationguide.info/Danish.html :)

In danish the letter 'd' often is pronounced like the 'th' in 'the' (as opposed to the 'th' in 'froth', for example). That could be why it sound like an 'l'. The letter 'g' might end up sounding like a 'y' when it loses the emphasis - in danish a lot of the ends of words get 'swallowed' (for want of a better word' and just skimmed over, or not pronounced at all. Hope this helps a little

so an old man that i know that speaks Danish says that you don't really ever move your tongue when you speak it. i'm not sure if that helps any, but there you go,
