こんにちは! I'm having trouble with the Japanese course.
I am taking the Japanese course, and I finished all the Hiragana 1-4 skills. I also finished the first lesson of the Intro skill but when I try to go to the second lesson, it redirects me to the home page. The link at the top then changes to
#sg-error at the end of it as soon as I click the button to take the lesson. Is this a glitch that will be over soon or do I have to restart the course? Thank you.
The release of the course earlier today was a glitch. During the glitch you started the course. The accidental early release has now been withdrawn and you will probably find it won't work again for you until the official release. (Unless you're an official advance tester.)
Ohh, ok thank you for this. I thought it was officially released since it was on the list of courses when you first start Duolingo.
Really? I was surprised when this post was made. A similar thing like this happens when Hindi was released early.
It was a glitch. The course got released earlier by mistake. Aww, You were so lucky.... :c
Unfortunately, I can't take it anymore, I was only able to learn the hiragana.
I don't think the course is finished yet.
You probably should not even be able to sign-up for the Japanese from English course - it is not scheduled to be available until at least May.
It was a choice in the list of languages when you open Duolingo for the first time, which is what I did yesterday.
Sorry if I ask but the Japanese course hasn't yet been released... How did you do? :o
It was on the list of languages at the beginning page of Duolingo and I chose it and it worked until that last skill that I mentioned.
My sister was talking about the upcoming release, so I joined the site yesterday to see if I liked how things worked here and if I was interested. Low and behold, I noticed the course was listed in the options, and decided to jump onto the glitch wagon and see what they had so far. It seems after the hiragana lessons, there's not much you can do. Guess I'll be sticking with my other sources til the May release.
However, if you're looking for other ways to start learning while you wait, there's a blog that posts a new list of Japanese learning resources each month. Here's the one for March: https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/japanese-learning-resources-march-2017/ I bet they'll include Duolingo's course in May's list when it comes around. Good luck with your learning!
If you write "Introduction/3" on the URL it will unblock it, but after you finish the lesson it would still be gray as it is locked. The way I found to unblock the three was to do the checkpoint test (took me 3 times) :)
