Does anybody else miss the vocab section?

For those of you who were a part of the old set up for Duolingo, you may have used the vocabulary section to work on specific words that you were struggling with. For me, I found it very useful to be able to see the words I had learned/was learning, and no longer having this is making my learning experience more difficult.

Does anyone have any tips, or share similar thoughts?

Thanks!

Only a minority of users used the vocabulary section. I think I read it was 5% or some low number like that? With 12.5 million active users, that's 625,000 people who had a learning tool removed from them. Minority or not, there was no good reason for vocabulary to have been removed for 625,000 people.

Indeed, the almighty Metrics must be considered beside the Bell Curve. Just because the majority of users do or don't employ something (use a tool or feature, listen to a type of music or artist, eat properly, exercise, etc...) doesn't make it right or wrong. The vocabulary tool was vital to my learning here. Since its removal, I only strengthen daily without much desire to proceed down the tree, since I cannot use the vocab to conduct my own self-imposed vocabulary training exercises. Instead, I strengthen here, then head over to Memrise, for the sake of flexibility (I can control what I want to learn in a lesson), diversity (a ton of lessons in a ton of topics), and enjoyment. I really hope Duo brings the vocab tool back ASAP. I enjoy the site and want to see it succeed and grow, but a language learning site without a vocabulary list is like a car without wheels.

If you are not on a linx system, you can get a duolingo app called ExtensionDuolingo Vocabulary Manager from Jeremy Strawn. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/duolingo-vocabulary-manag/mglmcjokbicehcaojghjmhfjnaooffcd

I don't think so, the latest comments of kristinemc don't sound as if vocabulary were a top priority for them, they seemingly don't have even a concept yet. I'd be surprised if it comes back within the next half year.

Thanks, and hmm, you might have a point. I'll try to remain optimistic.
