Correct answer is marked as incorrect
Each lesson that I am trying to complete is coming up with a 'type what you hear' question. Although I repeatedly type the correct answer, it says I am incorrect. So I can't complete the lesson and move on. Please help! Ps in the standard lessons, I don't usually get a 'listening' question.
I agree with berniesandwich, a screenshot would be most helpful. Type in your answer, let Duo mark you wrong, and do a screenshot of that - be sure to include your answer and Duo's suggested answer.
Could it be that it's one of those exercises where you have to click a radio button AND type a word? I haven't done the Italian course but Spanish and French will have you click "el" and then write "hombre" for example. If you write "el hombre" it marks you wrong.
Not sure how to include a screenshot. However, I have checked that I didn't need to click on a word or accent. Have also tried to complete several easier lessons . I encounter the same problem and the lesson keeps repeating the same questions too. The translation questions are marked as correct. So think it's possibly a technical problem. Thanks for your help.
To include a screenshot, use something like Windows' "Snipping" tool or Mac's CMD-SHIFT-4. Save the file to disk, upload it to photobucket, imgur, flickr, or similar and post the URL to the uploaded image here in the discussion.
Someone else posted that they were having trouble with the "Type what you hear" exercises in Spanish, and they included a screen shot. See if this is what you're experiencing: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/22143498
The only thing I know of is to report the problem (with the "Report a Problem" button in the exercise) and then go into Settings to disable the speakers. This will keep Duo from giving you listening exercises until the problem is sorted out.
Thank you so much for your assistance. I managed to get a screenshot but have an android device and am struggling to post it on the forum. However, have attached it to my question on the 'help' pages. So hopefully it will be resolved. Yes, it is the same problem that you mentioned with the Spanish learner. In the meantime I have also disabled the speakers
If it is an audio question it could be that you are translating what you hear instead of typing what you hear if it is a "type what you hear" question.
I have the same problem. I also turned off the speakers in Duolingo settings, but this is annoying as a solution, since the speakers are nice for pronunciation.
I have an issue with a translate section on the second lesson in the first course of Russian. I have a photo, not of the best quality, but https://gm1.ggpht.com/3bc_yAS5E9KRh8sVWAxQn_0hu4xgM99KtdZSmlDDo4LWlZcaf51FAGK_xkjFATdtioQVTN_XexCddo1z9WLWD_d_w100W5LVNetsk_CxJpGjlSMgmAazQZt2xBjZ_DC5Vh5kyG1CcDyuPtScPpm35srPawnLod8ZwuoYU4vB3oOOn_PlPSQAAINny3KQTDWGY8pZfY8s9fJbzWuG1eJ9qZUDOSVy_XnastNDg9IOPRM_3yBYYN4GSQcZB7GxuIPuEJ5ze6nIpWbd-Roc7SJmZFIBhidZDS9hwdcl5GVyc7VtTz6wxNI9ucT0acryJdWmSDpdAXtG16Of6-GQh3azIxu00gC6gMoy_s1jV8Ydjup3deJiEbEXvKtx3GMNQXEYbTAMqklj-XhmfMDw_VKmamuiRw1GszsYstiWfBuNGmZCNPY7E1GawWMiY5chnwBGnwhJdlGkHyWydSBQ5Y_PJc0jNlZrwezxDNwVZ0BXVUIcev8eHdytsxC5385pmXRNfu8ctLVOGy6Ng-iJNUIyVYEnI0WGsjjyh2DbNtg8J5rC7shdsuluc-Bd6bVAc9pKKtur-UnJGuwj2-x_CV86K_wHH2HuvKS-lkEdYGAYWbu7zbRrhpLQqseHmlTI-ZI5jPjuZsU_ls_RTxk5L3j9McrQLqch8G4s5D98cyQNweWjfc7pNJ0lor3j2mg=w1918-h916-l75-ft If anyone can figure out why it does this, I would be grateful. Even with this question, I can't skip or anything.
