Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

I am going to contribute Mongolian.

Well I am going to contribute Mongolian on Duolingo. Long ago I saw a discussion about Mongolian language (Old account that my sis deactivated it). Many people were interested in learning due to our culture and uniqueness of our language. So that gave me dedication to contribute. But I won't be able contribute it all by myself. So I kinda need help. Do any of speak Mongolian. Native or learner it doesn't matter. I just need assistance to contribute. (By the way I am a native speaker.)

That would be great! Best of success. Which script would you use?

It will be cyrillic of course. But I do know and can read the traditional. Only thing I suck at is the grammar. But if it's possible I bet it will be a whole different course. Traditional script is way more complicated than the cyrillic.

How plausible would an phonetically-oriented orthography reform for the traditional script be? I've heard that traditional Mongolian writes a lot of sounds that are no longer pronounced.

As far as I think. Traditional will sound bit softer than cyrillic. The sounds that not pronounced anymore are "aga, ago, ege, egu". These sounds shortened to make these sounds (aa, oo [uu], ee, üü [öö])

Well, then at least I have a start. :) Ever since I was a child your country has fascinated me.

It would be great for you to write this course for Duo. Let's hope Duo agrees! Best of success. Keep us posted on the forum.

I don't mean to be rude, but you have a few grammar mistakes in your post, and Duolingo is known to be stringent on how good your text looks. In this case, you just say "I already applied". If you are applying something, you have to be applying it to something, like "applying force to the door". Or you can say "I already applied to contribute. You also can't contribute the Mongolian course, you have to contribute to the Mongolian course. You can contribute a measure of time to the Mongolian course, as in "I can contribute several hours each day to the course", although "I can work on the course for several hours each day" sounds a little better to me.

That's why I am looking other people. Grammar has been my number one enemy since day 1.

You don't get to start a course immediately after applying., some people have waited for the staff's approval for years. Nobody knows how they decide what and when they something but that's definitely the bottleneck.

It is a very good idea. I am a native speaker of Mongolian. But are you sure that contribute Mongolian? How is your language level?
