Question of the Week 1
Every week there will be a question about Duolingo, languages, etc...
You have to answer that question in a language you are learning.
Full sentence, word answers please (otherwise, you won't have to translate much. Please don't cheat by using a translating software.).
Please don't downvote.
Question 1: What is the most interesting word you've encountered in your learning language?
Hope you enjoy this!
As Gaeilge, one of my favourites is comhaltas -- friendship. Learning together. What Duo is all about ;)
Also, félicitations for your lovely 100-day streak! :)
One of my favorites would be the German sentence: "Hilfe, ich werde gegessen!" (Help, I am being eaten!)
En Espanol, es "Emparadado." En Maygar, es "legeslegmegszentségteleníttethetetlenebbjeitekként".
hmmmm, ok let me try this(it is in Spanish): mi madre no como lettuga. (My mother does not eat lettuce) :)
Do you mind if I give some corrections? This sentence is almost right, but I'd like to help you get it 100% correct. It would be 'Mi madre no come lechuga,' because the Spanish word for lettuce is not 'lettuga' and you conjugated the verb 'comer' for yo rather than ella. : )
Jeg liker ordet "datamaskin." Det betyr "computer" I engelsk. Norsk er svært likt engelsk.
does that mean "I can understand you because I have also studied Norwegian"? I have no idea what "konstigt" means.
Word-for-word, "I can understand you and I have never studied Norwegian. Weird."
It's in Swedish.
I was pretty close! I only missed "and" and "never" and "weird." I knew that was Swedish cuz it's so similar to norsk.
Îmi place cuvântul "dor" din română. Este un cuvânt pe care nu-l poți să traduci exact în alte limbi și cred că este un cuvânt draguț.
Apropo, îmi place ideea ta cu "întrebari de sâptămănă". Sper că vei întreba ceva în fiecare sâptămănă :)
En español Jubilado por que igual pensionista y no tengo que levantar en las mananas
Je trouve que le mot « adaptateur » est intéressant, mais je ne sais pas pourquoi. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
