Strengthen skills 34 lessons
I'm very consistent with completing any strengthen skills in Spanish before completing new lessons. I missed one day of lessons yesterday and suddenly have 34 lessons needing strengthen skills! What's going on?
Duolingo has been running an A/B test that boosted word strengths for some users. They have discontinued the test, so your word strength was simply reset to what it would be if you had not been in the test.
After analyzing this experiment, we have found that learners who were shown boosted word strengths are not performing as well as learners who were not shown boosted word strengths. Therefore, we have decided to turn off the boosted word strength experiment. This means that for some, it will appear as though their skill strengths have dropped for no apparent reason.
I got the same issue with my Italian course... I opened a ticket with DuoLingo support. I was up to date in the morning, but this evening I need to practice it all...
44 skills (swedish) went down overnight. I worked quite hard yesterday but I haven't finished my tree yet. What do you mean by 'opening a ticket with DuoLingo support'. How do I do that? Thanks.
Let's "regroup" all reports about the recent (less than 24 hours apparently) bug with strengthening, in this discussion which is [seems to be] the oldest one about this subject posted in the Troubleshooting forum.

Ok, that's weird, cause that has also happened to me, BUT, the day after I finished the spanish tree.
Well I'm ready to give up because I do not want to go back to 34 lessons as I have been very diligent about it all. Really don't like that Duolingo don't get back directly if there's a problem.
Don't give up, I've passed through that too, It took me 4 days to recover all the lessons.
Thanks for the encouragement but it will take me more than 4 days to strengthen skills in 34 lessons! I had been a great advocate for the program but I guess I'll be giving everyone a different opinion now! Not being able to have a two way conversation directly with the company makes a strong statement about how the company views its users!
