Duo is slower...?

I saw the post about the removal of activity streams, for the purpose of the site running faster. However, the site seems slower to me (I know it's not me, I just did a quick search and I know it's not the same). I don't really know where this topic should go, but it's not really a "resolvable issue", so I guess that's why it's in the language section.

Here is a link that might help you!! https://www.duolingo.com/comment/22240575

So what I am gathering is that Duo is getting rid of OUR activity streams without even asking us, and trying to make the site faster. That is why EVERYBODY today is not having a stream. THEY DIDNT EVEN ASK US. I have actually never had a stream, because I was always a part of an A/B test...

Maybe? The deal about the streams is really annoying tho. I guess it has been a little slower lately but I haven't been on here in a while.

It might just be an issue with your device.

It seems slower only because you started paying attention to speed. A watched pot never boils.

Unless you've been measuring site's performance with appropriate tools for a long time, you can't really say anything. Hunches are unreliable.

The straw that broke the camel's back was a one-hour long lag spike, which almost brought down the entire site. If you weren't on Duolingo at that time, you missed the worst.
