In the Peek for "pelas", there was nothing hinting that it meant "behind", only "for the", "by" and "for". And considering this is the first time they teach "pelas" they shouldn't have used it in a way that it's not directly translated (specially when with the given information it would've sounded more like "he talks about his/your back", when about is closer to by than behind).

This is an idiom and should have been introduced in this usage. Also "suas costas", should that not be "their backs"?

I am confused why it's "back" singular and not plural?

Does this mean "He talks behind their backs" or "He covers their backs"? The actual translation has no menaing in English.
