Ich wohne in New York, und es regnete den ganzen Tag. Mein Tag war so la la. Bei der Sport sind wir gelaufen, und deshalb, bin ich müde.

Translation: I live in New York, and it rained the whole day. My day was meh. At practice we ran, and I'm tired because of that.

As you can tell, I'm amazing at transitions.

"Practice" = Sport? (Beim Sport sind wir gelaufen)

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

It is rainy on the east coast too. It rained all day yesterday and it hasn't stopped all day today. I'm in NC.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

Cool! wow yea, a slow but very wet rain. how are you?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

How am I? I'm doing good today. Just busy with school. If school was as fun as duolingo, I wouldn't get behind.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

okay, bye! cya 'round

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

IKR!!!!! I'm bogged down with school too. So do you play violin? I do too, if you don't know that already XD

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

Yeah I play some violin. I am taking lessons still and am no where near being good enough to play for people. I haven't played it much the past week because I got a mandolin for my birthday and I've been trying it out. My fingers are killing me!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

I have been playing for like 3 years or so. I don't play mandolin, but we have one and it is pretty painful! My brother plays it mostly.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

I have been playing violin for 1 and a half years. I wanted a mandolin because it is tuned like a violin with the strings in the g, d, a, e order. (except there's two of 'em)

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

yea, the mandolin is really cool that way. I've picked out a few tunes on it with previous knowledge of the violin. What's your favorite song to play?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

I like to play Ashokan Farewell and Minuet 2 (i think it's 2--maybe 3).

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

what book is it in? I like to play Kreisler and also some concertos. I don't really like sonatas, though

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

I learned the minuet in a Suzuki method book 1 for violin. I learned Ashokan Farewell by listening to it on youtube. I don't think I have heard any music from Kreisler. I also like Gavotte by Gossec.

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/starboystellan

Oh yes, I know those songs! Cool. Yea, I did the Suzuki books too. i'm not quite through with them though

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hannahviolinist

My sisters and I have only done the first book and just picked out other songs to play that are not in books. Well, it's been nice chatting with you, but we are taking up a lot of space on someone's discussion. Maybe we can talk again when duo gets some new activity stream thing up again. Bye!
