Tinycards is great, bulk import please!

Hello Duolingo wizards,

I absolutely love Tinycards. The interface is fantastic and the test flow is perfect.

The only thing missing is a bulk import. Please add a bulk import feature where you can upload a CSV file and have all the elements turned into cards in one swoop and have them appended to the currently edited lesson. Format could be really simple. One card defined per line-feed delimited line, two fields per line: card_front, card_back.

I know this format doesn't cover cards with multiple facts, but it would be a good start and would be many times faster than creating each card individually, especially for those of us using custom keystroke combinations for special characters like the umlauts in German, etc. It would also open up the opportunity for programmers/scripters to create list builder utilities that output Tinycards compatible CSV files for bulk import.

Great job!

This feature is badly needed, along with custom audio.

Yeah it would be pretty neat. I have so many cards imported into Anki, if TC would get it i would be so damn happy.

Do you want to address this to the staff? I think it's such a needed feature, so you could provide direct feedback here: https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Choose "Tinycards Feedback" as "Type of issue" and there you go :-)

Good idea. I just did. For others on this thread, let's all do this and maybe it will help motivate them? Here's the feedback I sent:

Could not agree more. I just opened a support ticket as well. I am sure if they get flooded with tickets they will take a look.

It defies imagination why Tiny Cards doesn't include a feature for batch import.

I don't know if this wasn't possible at the time of this post, but I'll leave this in case someone else stumbles upon this page in the future.

It is indeed possible to import a batch of cards from a CSV file. You just have to select a cell in the deck editor and paste your previously copied cells from your preferred spreadsheet software.

this is so true! I LOVE tinycards, and have lists of vocab I'm learning, and my hands hurt from copy-pasting every tiny word for 40 words at a time, in both languages (not including the extra facts! I'm adding a support ticket request now as well!

Oops I sort of automatically assumed they would have this feature! I want to download my animals card deck and split it into sections so that others can use the sections of it that they want to use :( Please, please add this feature!!!
