How many years have you done on Duolingo??
And what level 17 in a language you had no basis in. I can guess half of German and Spanish because I can recognize the root good job
By looking at the responses, I think "months" would probably have been the better word haha. In my case, 25 days.
I've had an account here for 569 days, but I took a long break last summer. 569 days is also...
· 49,161,600 seconds
· 819,360 minutes
· 13,656 hours
· 569 days
· 81 weeks and 2 days
· 155.89% of a common year (365 days)
I've completed Spanish for English speakers and French for Spanish speakers. I dabble in the related trees like French for English. I spend a LOT more time moderating than I do learning languages :( But, it's my choice!
I started on 2013-09-20. I have racked up a wopping 1434 lingots. I have also finished the spanish tree twice... I think.
I take it, from your level 7 in Spanish, that you delete the tree each time and start from zero? Rather than just starting with "Basics One" on a completed tree?
I want to do that with my French tree but I am so vain and fond of my level 25. I can't quite muster the nerve to delete it.
I created my account December 15th, 2015 but i only started seriously learning 214 days ago :)
Only 151 more days until my first year :)
3 and a half years, all on German. I'm still only about halfway through the German tree. That's fine though, because I make sure that I have every word memorized before I go to the next lessons. I also do other German learning outside of Duolingo though; such as, I have taken 4 classes at the Goethe Institut so far too.
that cool. I also wanna learn German but it's very difficult and you did a great job, congratulation :)
go for it girl!!! you never know if you'll like it or not if you dont try!! i started learning french and even though i am really having hard time speaking it i still love it, i see the reason behind why they call it the language of love!!! just go try it
My longest streak was 994 days before I got sick and lost track of what day it was. Right now, the language I'm focusing on (American Sign Language) is not offered on Duolingo. So, my streak is 0.
Oh i'm really sorry to hear that but you did a great job and congratulation for that :)
I think I must have joined at about the same time, because I'm pretty sure I joined sometime in June.
yeah, i see you are learning English? does that mean you arent from the U.S.?
hey thats cool!!, im actually thinking of taking french as my second language, the only setback for me is that its hard for me to have a french accent but im still gonna try, how are you getting along with learning english?
I have done just a month and a half but it's not difficult language because English is an easy language but i know that French is difficult because the words in French and English isn't the same
i see, if you want i can help you with your english and in turn you can help me with my french that way we can help each other, i am using the web version of duolingo and i dont think i can send a message to you fom my computer, but if you sent me a message i will be able to reply and we can talk from there, do you accept?
do you think that you could send me a message again? for some reason its not letting me reply
Since June 2013, so almost 4 years. In that time I reached a streak of 123 days twice, and my longest streak was 511 days. I've finished the German, Spanish, and Dutch trees in that time (the German tree twice). I currently have 3218 lingots, and I've probably given away over 1500 in my time here.
That very good :P . I also want to finish my English tree i'm in level 22
I've been on Duolingo for 3 and a half months. However I would say my progress is relatively quick. :)
In English I would say that I'm nearly fluent, I'm at a weak B2, but I have taken an English class, and that helped me a lot, now I'm more confident when I speak in English.
I started doing it in March 2014, so about 3 years now. My streak though isn't really reflective of that since I did lose it at 100 days and had a hard time building it up again for a while afterwards.
i see, well at least you kept grinding thats really all that matters, the grind, the fact that you kept working at what you love
I've been here since about February of last year so... a little more than a year.
that good i have done 6 months or more but it's cool. And good luck with your learning :)
At this time, I believe I have been on DL for about 3 months, and I have to say, I am hooked by the way it teaches language. With it, I have been able to reconnect with the German that I had been learning in high school and the Japanese from my elementary school days.
I've been here since 2014, but I stopped using Duolingo for two years because of... Stuff.
