Hebrew was the only language to be revived - there may soon be another

Another really good article on the revival of the Cornish language, and the challenges involved.

The article title includes the words "from extinction" and from my reading of Wikipedia, neither of those two became extinct at any point. Manx and Cornish are more on a grey area, Manx having lost its last native speaker but not L2's.

Fair enough. However, if you want to include L2 speakers, then Hebrew was never really extinct either- it survived as a liturgical language before being modified into modern Hebrew.

An extinct language has no speakers whatsoever. Hebrew was dead, which is a different class to 'extinct'.

The article actually discusses most of these points.
