Blocking Feature Missing?
I've read all the posts on how to block someone but I can't find the gray gear on their profile. I get spammed by SexyTeacher and want to block the person, but I go to notifications, click on the name, and when the profile comes up there is no gear to click in order to block them...can anyone help? New to Duolingo.
The recent accounts have the new version of the website (the website without the activity tab).
And indeed, there is no "gear" on one's profile, so you cannot block a person.
I'm glad someone else can't. I tried to insert a screen shot here, but can't. There is no gear to the upper-right of the profile pic.
Here is the link to the Duolingo Help Center for "How do I report abuse?"
In the new version of de website you cannot contact a moderator, but maybe the "Submit a Bug Report" works (https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new)
Thank you, so does that mean they removed the blocking feature in the new website, or is there anyone way to block someone?
On the old website, you could only block a person from spamming on your activity stream, not on your posts in a discussion forum.
Thank you all. I've submitted an abuse complaint (have to submit a bug report and choose abuse as subject) and a bug report saying we need the block feature on the new accounts. I appreciate everyone for their help.
When I go to their profile, it gives me a 404 error, which usually means that their account has been deleted.
