The're are some verbs which are really important for speaking. these are TO BE, TO GO, TO HAVE, TO WANT, TO BE ABLE TO. The thing about these verbs is they are all irregular (this basically means they don"t follow the usual rules for conjugating). my advice to you is to look these verbs up and try and memorize as many as you can. this will really help you in speaking. hope this helps and good luck.

Make sure to use the web version when you can. It has notes explaining the grammar for many of the lessons and the basic verb conjugations. Write them down on paper so you can review them later. Also, do a google search for Tex's French Grammar. It's site from the University of Texas that explains French grammar with exercises that is useful when using Duolingo.

Tex's French Grammar is highly recommended. For verbs just google for "french verbs by frequency". Studying the most common verbs will get you further faster.

I would look for something written, and maybe even print it. Maybe even buy a book ( lots available and you can pick them up really cheaply second hand too) Don't know if you are the type who likes to write things down, but I always found that writing something a few times helps you remember. So that would help you remember irregular verbs. Do it in small bits, for example learn je suis, tu es, il / elle / on est .. then when that is firmly stuck in your head, learn nous sommes, vous êtes, ils / elles sont. Or do all of it at once if you can manage it. Used to have French vocabulary tests every week at school .. 20 new words I think ... that method always worked.
