Oceania is a new continent, I think it was just named. All the Pacific Islands (excluding Hawaii) and Australia make up Oceania. So, Polynesia and Australia are now Oceania. It's the same thing, just that we added Polynesia to Australia. Oh yeah, Malaysia is now part of Oceania.
But before, Oceania was over 10,000 islands, but excluded Australia. Then Oceania included Polynesia. And Micronesia.
