Thanks, I looked in my dictionary which I bought in Spain and in the spanish section it only has 'grandfather' for abuelo, but in the english section it has both 'grandfather and grandad' but on neither does it say 'grandpa.

To me it sounds weird to say "the grandfather" so I looked in the translations and it says "old man" is an acceptable translation, but it wasn't accepted. Why?
