"Dw i'n meddwl bod nhw'n barod."

Translation:I think that they are ready.

Is the distinction between I think they're ready and I believe they're ready a significant one in Welsh? I'd use the two interchangeably in English.

Not really but like in English they're two separate verbs "To think" being "Meddwl" and "Believe" being "Credu" or "Coelio". So you'd only translate "I think that they're ready" as "Dw i'n meddwl bod nhw'n barod" and "I believe that they're ready" as "Dw i'n credu/coelio bod nhw'n barod."
