Learn to read Russian in 15 minutes (no joke)
This will make your studies a lot.... and I mean A LOT easier

The characters on the penultimate slide are actually spelled very differently in Russian: Бэтмен, Гарри Поттер, Элвис, Микки.
Also I'm not sure "soft vowels" and "hard vowels" are proper terms. There are normal and iotated vowels (Аа/Яя, Ээ/Ее, Оо/Ёё, Уу/Юю) and the letter Ыы which follows its own rules.

That's the root of English accent... You guys are apparently taught to always read Е, Ё, Ю, Я as kind of diphthongs (йэ, йо, йу, йа), while in fact when after a consonant, these characters soften the consonant AND lose the й. Like for example "лето" reads not "л-йэ-то" (which would sound like spoken by a bad guy in Russian-dubbed Star Wars), but "л'э-то", where л' is soft л.
Exactly. Also, changing Ы to И and Е to Э, wrong stress, and misused gender. I don't want to insult anyone but all of these together may sound very funny sometimes :)
Hopefully it is, it's just the basics but that 15 minutes is better than 15 days of understanding it :D
here, have another and another and another and another and another,it only let me give you five,i wanted to give you ten
Thank you :) I was thinking about messaging a Mod to ask them to pin this as it is extremely useful for beginners
Bummer, but no real problem. Here, I'll help you out with 5 of mine. They go straight to Cammykazie.
This is a great comic! Very good intro, nice comic to read a couple of times before one dives into their first Russian lesson.
thank you! It's so cool! I also found the guide both fun and helpful. http://ryanestradadotcom.tumblr.com/post/97607943779/learn-to-read-russian-in-15-minutes-i-did-this
Fun and refreshing learn experience! Thanks :) 5 lings from me me and 5 lings from me for the other guy who only could give 5. Guess he is from the more impatient younger generation ;)
