practicing with timer under new software

This has become rather harder; it is especially irritating that sometimes duolingo takes 5-6 seconds to decide on an answer you have entered, but in the meantime the clock keeps ticking. Also I miss being able to select an option with a number key. Do others have this experience?

Hi, since your post is not about Spanish, but about how Duo works, could you please edit your post and use the drop-down list at top left to change the topic from "Spanish" to "Troubleshooting"? That way it won't clutter up the Spanish forum and it will be where staff might see it or others who might be able to help will notice it. Thank you!!

Yes, you are not alone and I submitted it to the troubleshooting forum a couple of times (and not me alone) - with no result. The problem with the missing keyboard shortcuts seemingly appears only on Firefox. This problem appeared after I got the new web version and it´s still persists. I also experienced your problem with the "waiting time".

So the timed exercises has become nearly impossible, because I have to struggle not only with the given short time, the "waiting time", the missing keyboard shortcuts to use the exercise, but also with the foreign Polish characters and a different keyboard layout, so that I can´t write as quick as on a German keyboard layout. Using a mouse and klicking on the foreign letters instead or choose the correct answers with the mouse is not really an option, isn´t it? Too bad...

The only solution I can provide is, to use the Internet Explorer instead, at least for the timed practices. :-(

As a matter of fact I do use firefox, so will try another browser to fix that bit. Thanks. I think they will get round to it at some point.
