Advancement to Level 12 in French from English

I keep receiving no-reply e-mails urging me to continue to [in my case, Level 12 in French] but there do not appear to be any more exercises to do; is this a mistake on the part of Duolingo?

Level is accumulated points for doing lessons regardless of if they are new or repeated (strengthened). Skills are the topics covered like objects. Adverbs, communication. It's normal to run out of skills before you reach the highest level that duo goes to (level 25, 30,000 XP) even after level 25 you can keep practicing

No, your level is just a measure of how many XP you have earned and after finishing your course you can continue to earn XP by reviewing the skills and keeping them gold. You need 30,000 XP to reach level 25 which is the highest level you can reach in any of the Duolingo courses.

Thank you so much for your prompt replies, guys. I will go back and repeat some sessions.

It's a butt load to hit 25 but I'm there and I still occasionally see a sentence or word that looks new.
