Frustration

Hi. I love doing my Polish course, but I have 2 problems. 1) I finished level 12 quite a while ago on my laptop and every day I get a message that my next challenge is to finish level 13 but I can't find level 13 - there is no option to access it! 2) I have installed the app on my iphone and used it at odd moments which was very useful. However, something happened and I lost everything. I can still access it and use it but I can't save anything as, when I try to log in it tells me that my email address has already been used and use another one - I don't have another one so now I am unable to use my phone app at all! Are you able to help me with either of these issues as I am getting very frustrated and am at the stage of giving up! Thanks. Ania

I only have an answer to your first point. The way you level up is by earning XP (experience points) by completing exercises. It's not a separate feature that requires 'accessing'. I hope your issues with the mobile application are resolved! Happy learning!

to your second question, it seems you are registering again, while you should be just logging in. When you log in with your email address and password it should work. if you can't remember your password, there should be an option "forgot my password" (at least I suppose there's one...)

Thanks. But when I go into the app, it does not give me the option to log in - it just goes straight in. And once I'm in, there is no facility to login or out. I have tried deleting the app and reloading it, but the same thing happens.

Here is a solution of June142547 for log out in the IOS App:

.... 1) went to "clubs"; 2) hit "profile" in top left; 3) clicked the small print containing "duolingo.com" and my user name which appears in the center just below my name; 4) that opens a new window - clicked on the hamburger in the top right; 4) finally the option to log out is available in the drop-down menu.

In the Android app it is very easy to log out:
Home page - click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen - log out.

The issue you are having is probably because when accessing your account from your phone, instead of "log in" you probably pressed "get started". "log in" is used when you already have an account and "get started" when you don't have an account. As far as getting to level 13, you need 70 xp to reach your next lever, which means you need to do seven more lessons or revisions and you will get to lever 13. Hope this helps! Happy learning!

Thanks very much! I just tried again but when I open my app, it goes straight into the home page without the need to login. Then I have no option to login or out. With the other issue, I have done a lot more than 70 xp (I am on a 64 day streak, and doing on average 30xp per day) and I have not moved from level 12.

In that case, I recommend you to edit the topic of this discussion from "duolingo" to "troubleshooting". Just hit edit and in the top left corner change the topic. Hopefully, someone will be able to resolve your issue.

do you see you are level 12 on your phone? that means you must be logged in,. also levels are based on total XP earned, not on your daily goal. do you see your total XP? the higher level the harder it is to achieve , meaning the point stretch between the levels is getting bigger

oh and what dsjanta meant is that you need 70 more XP to reach another level (I just realised it's a public info and I looked), now it's only 60xp left, guess you did an excercise meanwhile
