Can't downvote

Hello,

Long time member of the Duolingo community. Just now though I am no longer able to help downvote spam in the forums. It allows me to upvote, but downvote no longer works for me. Is this an A/B test or did my account somehow wrongly get flagged to disable it?

Thank you

Same here. Disappointing - and downright dangerous once the school swarm comes back in the US morning.

If it's an A/B test, I'm guessing it's 'social_remove_action_labels' (look it up in your user file and see if it says 'eligible:true' at the end of the line).
This is a terrible idea—with so few moderators, downvoting is the only effective way of hiding spam.

I don't know what that attribute means, but it says "social_remove_action_labels": {"contexts": [], "treated": false, "destiny": "control", "condition": "experiment", "eligible": false}

All right, maybe it's not that one then. I'll have to have another look.

It is possibly an A/B test, because:

  • in this account I can neither upvote nor downvote
  • in my other account I can both upvote and downvote

That's weird. Works for me. (Tried it on your discussion, but I upvoted it a second later.)

It's the new very bad feature they introduced for killing forum. It will kill sentence forums. No mean to see if answers to the questions are trustworthy or not. No mean to clean spams.

I thought it was just a fluke when my downvote didn't register on an earlier post and forgot about it. But you reminded me and I can't downvote this.
