Learning through movies and series

I think that there should be an option to watch movies and TV series with title in language you want to learn, or title in your language for shows which are in language you are learning. It is a funny way to learn and that helped me a lot with learning english language. English is not my mother language, but watching TV helped me. Now I am learning italian as an english speaker. Maybe my grammar and spelling are not perfect, but I consider myself as an english speaker who can understand everything I hear or read.

Netflix gives you the option to change the audio of shows and movies, their widest selection is on Netflix originals. Hover over Browse, click Audio and subtitles and then change the drop down menu to the language you want.

Watching TV in Japanese has helped me a lot to pick up some words and grammar, and it's also been a great motivator to study.

Nice to see that someone want to learn my language. Which one is your native? If you have some troubles you can ask me for a help.

Yes, I agree. When learning a language, you should learn the words first and then the grammar!

My native is English. I want to know Serbian because my family is Serbian and I want to talk fluently to them. It seems difficult to be grammatically correct because of padez and genders. Ne znam puno srpski.

Our grammar is difficult for understanding, and you don't have to worry about it, because I have a plenty of examples in my surrounding that are native speakers and they don't know how to write grammatically correct. My opinion is first to learn words, and for grammar you have enough time.

Wow! I always wanted to learn Serbian.

I think Serbian is similar to Polish in some vocabulary (eg zaba is frog in Polish and Serbian, jelen is deer in Serbian and Polish).

That's cause they both are Balto-Slavic Languages.

I am glad to hear that people want to learn Serbian and I will be happy if I can help you with that.

Do you know any web pages where I can learn Serbian?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Tanjchi5

Sadly, no. I came here to learn French with knowing Serbian, but there wasn't possibility so I started learning it with knowing English. I tried to contribute to a new language course, and I send a request for English from Serbian and Serbian from English, but I haven't had luck. If I find any site that can help you I will post it in a discussion.

Check out Tinycards on Duolingo, there is a Serbian language course, I just made it.

You can do that on Netflix, actually, you can change the language and the subtitle language. I've done it a couple times before and it's pretty interesting though a little difficult.

English is my first language, and it's cool that you've learned it. Let me know if you need help with grammar or spelling or anything :) I'm a writer so I've learned a lot about grammar and writing style.

Cheers!

Yes, that should totally be an option! English was not my first language and I remember going to kindergarten and not knowing anything! I watched Blue's Clues and Dora and that helped a TON with my English
