Question about Japanese course (website version)

Hello, I would like to know whether you will need your own Japanese keyboard installed or will Duolingo have something on its own that would allow you to write answers in Japanese?

If you are on GNU/Linux you can use IBus. There are plenty of guides out there so find one for your particular distribution.

You probably need your own keyboard. Or maybe Duolingo will make a system where you type in the romaji, and it translate it just like any other keyboard, but only on the Duolingo website.

It will not let me install well for 1. I do not have a computer and for 2. I am not android. So is then a way I can do it on a iOS iPad

You can add new keyboards on an iPad by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add new keyboard. There are two Japanese choices (Kana and Romaji).
