Swahili Conversation Needed
If there is anyone who could help me practice Swahili (I'm a native English speaker), I'd be very grateful. I don't have much use for the lingots, so I'd be willing to exchange all of mine as I get them for some good language practice!
Thank you! I'm just starting to learn, so I can't say I won't make embarrassing mistakes
Ndiyo! Ujue ninahitaji kuenda mapema. Lakini, ninacheka mbona hawafundishi ndiyo na hapana!
I said: Yes! You should know I need to go early. But, I laugh why they don't teach yes and no!
Not exactly. It's "Sorry. I wanted to say what sport do you like?" The literal translation was "Sorry. I wanted to say you like game what?" because that's how the grammar works.
Ah, still figuring that out. :) Mimi si kweli kama mchezo, hata hivyo ninapenda kutembea
Haha. Ninapenda mchezo zote, ninafikiri. Mwaka yangu ni kumi na mbili. Mwaka yako nini?
From my understanding, pole doesn't quite mean sorry! It's more used to express sympathy. If someone stubbed their toe or someone is sick or very tired, you'd say pole. Whereas "samahani" translates to sorry the way you all are using it - as an apology for something you have done or cause. I hope that helps!
Kwamba ni poa sana! Rangi zuri yako nini? Ninapenda njano kwa sababu ya ndimu.
