Why are so many past skills unlocking every day?
I've been using the app for about 260 days. In the last couple of weeks, every day at least seven previously passed skills are "unlocking" for review, if not more. I'm not making a crazy amount of mistakes on new lessons. My settings are for one step up from the minumum. It's really difficult to keep up now. I thought about deleting and reloading the app, but would I lose my streak and/or progress? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that none of the updates have upgraded my app to some of the major changes with lingots that I've read about on here. Thanks for any help.
My opinion (for what it's worth): don't bother deleting and re-installing.
In my last tree I was able to do 30-50 XP of review or more each day before tackling a new lesson, and everything stayed golden quite easily.
These days I don't have as much free time and I'm like a hamster in a wheel just trying to keep my first half dozen or so skills golden. I'm not sure if it's because I don't review as much as before, or if they've changed their algorithm, or if they're running an A/B test... but I don't think deleting and re-installing will help, because I'm experiencing the same thing and I've see a couple of other folks commenting about the same thing.
I agree, it is making it difficult to complete a tree with most skills golden. I am leaving reviews until I have completed the tree. I can then worry about any skills that are not golden.
Account set as casual (10XP/day) user. I finally got all skills to gold yesterday and have now been greeted with 20 that need review! Don't have time losing faith in app please help!
Duolingo's practice is too much to get past the first checkpoint for most courses.
Same Issue - been using great app for about 6 weeks but the last few days have been impossible to get all gold skills. I'm only 8% fluent and although it seems new words are being added each time I retake a skill it is really infuriating!
Does doing a daily practice help??
Would prefer to have achievable goals not a constant struggle to complete.
