"Liebe hat ihn in diesen Stuhl gebracht."

March 3, 2013

"Love has brought him in this chair." <- what does this even mean?

I'm only guessing that it's supposed to mean "into this situation/position". I have never heard it, though, neither in German nor English.

It probably could use a story context. "The man was deeply in love with his next-door neighbor. One night, he knocked on her door, and she welcomed him into the living room and invited him to sit down while she made her some tea. Love had brought him to that chair."
