Certificate for Quiz completion showing "identity not verified"

I just completed a progress quiz in Esperanto, but the certificate at the end is showing Certificate of Achievement for "Identity not verified". Why would that be? My name is linked to my Duolingo account, and I would like it to appear on my certificates.

You can put anything you want in your name field on Duolingo. You could have written "Barack Obama" there, for example.

Duolingo has no way of knowing whether that's your real name.

Or even if there is a person with that name, they have no way of knowing that the person who took the quiz was the person who created the account.

That's pretty much what "identity not verified" means -- they did not check whether the person taking the test has a given name, by some means such as checking government-issued identification papers.
