The changes you made to Duolingo (new lingots system, health, etc) are TERRIBLE
Please reverse these changes so that i can once again enjoy this app.
The new system has got me totally confused. I can't work out where I'm up to with either revision, or new lessons. It was much easier - and more obvious - to choose "Practice". I'm so dissatisfied that I felt motivated to leave a review on the app store pointing out that a 5 star app has turned into a 1 star app.
I loathe the 'health' system! Is Duolingo trying be a 'gamers' platform? Impossible to learn without making mistakes and then having to spend too much time 'repairing' rather than learning. Get rid of it Duolingo.
I agree. I used to be able to turn off the voice reading each sentence to me but still have the sound effects on. Although I have those options selected in my profile, ALL the sound has turned off and I cannot even hear the clock ticking when time is low. Also, my strength bars never increase. These are not improvements. I've lowered my daily requirement because, frankly, I am no longer happy using DuoLingo.
How does one improve the strength bars now for each category? It used to be that you typed in 5 sentences or so and the the bars increased, now nothing happens???
i agree. The practice button has disappeared from the ipad version and I can no longer strengthen skills.
I agree!!! I cannot test myself anymore and I'm having trouble checking words to get hints!! I can't even start over!!
I find it very annoying too - could be a dealbreaker for me too. The point of learning is that you learn from your mistakes. If I make too many mistakes and get locked out that means that I can do three things - 1. Pay the required amount (NEVER) 2. Wait it out - it seems to restore itself after a few days (WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT!) 3. Check all my answers on another app/dictionary so that I don't make mistakes (THAT WILL SURELY ENCOURAGE ME TO MOVE OFF DUOLINGO AND AGAIN - WHAT'S THE POINT DUOLINGO?) I know candy crush saga used to expect you to either pay or wait 3 days to move to another level. Guess what? They removed that feature. So wise up Duolingo. You have to make it fun and easy or people will give it up. I understand the necessity to make money out of the app but this one is a negative step if your intention is to teach language. People learn from their mistakes!
Why can't I see my progress or each stage? I do several parts of a section but then the next day it shows 0 sections completed. Can someone explain how I can reveiw my progress or suggest a better app?
...lone dissenter here, I prefer the new version - no hanging between questions and you can scroll quickly big comment threads...(runs for cover)...
