I'm having surgery so will be without access awhile. Is possibility of a temp hold on my duolingo?
Duolingo doesn't offer it. You may be able to find someone you trust, and tell them to log in daily and do one XP. (assuming the goal is set on one XP) Don't trust people online unless you know them very very well, and for a long time. Even then, you still shouldn't trust them with everything.
I hope you'll get better!
(edit after pranav_prakav's comment: added "know", which was missing)
Are you allowed to take a mobile phone to the hospital? Most hospitals allow that, and you can keep up your streak via mobile until you are released.
That may or may not be practical, depending on what shape the OP is in during the days immediately following surgery, whether the OP has or can borrow an mobile phone, and whether the hospital has wifi access.
If it's practical, all to the good. If not, J.P.MAP, there really are more important things in life than maintaining your streak. If one of those things gets in the way and reasonable attempts to work around it are not possible, remember it's not your fault and don't worry about it too much. Rest and heal.
Hmm, I am not sure, but if you use also the mobile version, at least under iOS, then you will be prompted by a message, that you can restore your streak by paying a certain amount of money. Maybe this is also possible after a few days, but I am not sure. But the more often you use this possibility, the more raises the cost for this 'service'.
I'm sure you've enabled the streak freeze. You (or someone) can re-enable that at 10 lingots per day...if possible. Good luck.
surgery! wow. Unfortunately Duo does not provide that. sorry. Is it okay if I pray for you surgery?
Thanks everyone. No I don't have a mobile device. no I can't put a daily streak hold on as won't be accessing my duolingo account for several months. no I won't be using duolingo in hospital. But thanks for the smiles I got from some of the comments. No need to comment any more as I won't see them from now on till I'm back into living a normal life.
