Easy languages, if you aren't familiar, is a youtube channel that features person on the street interviews for learners in all sorts of languages - European, Asian, African etc. Some of the language channels also have basic grammar lessons mixed in. Posts usually come weekly.

The best thing is that each video is subtitled in the target language with English subtitles under that.

I have found it most useful with German (which I believe was the original language for the channel).

I would be great if someone in Wales could do a series like this. I know Easy Languages offers support for their videographers.

Wow, that looks very cool.

I'd love to do something like this. I've stickied this post so that we can discuss the practicalities of getting a team together in Wales. The Eisteddfod in Llangefni could be an opportunity to collect interviews.

I don't know how easy it would be for us to do, but alternatively a couple of posts before this one there is a post about a youtube chanel which has a lot of learner friendly content. If you want any of us to make transcripts of any of the videos there then just post a link to the particular video here and I'm sure we'll happily write out subtitles for it in both English and Welsh here.

That would really be great. I would also be interested in easy reading texts in Welsh available online - I live in Germany. Any tips?

The Welsh Books Council has ebooks for sale at http://www.gwales.com/ebooks/?tsid=1. Also, you can read Welsh news at http://www.bbc.com/cymrufyw, where they have a button you can press to get vocab.

Yes, I truly agree, maybe it could also steer Duolingo users' attention towards Welch.

Dw i'n gobeithio bydda i'n gallu dechrau creu fideos ar YouTube i gynorthwyo pobl sydd yn dysgu'm iaith. Bydda i'n creu fideos amdano'r gramateg wahanol a hefyd, os mae rhaid imi, bydda i'n creu fideos yn dysgu sut i gyhoeddi geiriau yn yr iaith. Bydd y prosiect hon yn annibynnol,
