Why does my Fluency Number keep going down?

I have been doing exercises daily, meeting my daily quota, and even getting gold. Yet my fluency number keeps decreasing. I was at 55 (maybe even 56), and now I am at 52.

The fluency percentage isn't very accurate, so don't worry about it. If you're interested, here's some info on how the fluency percentage is calculated: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/19032758

You can find many complaints about this issue in Duolingo's discussion forums.

Duolingo's Fluency % is unreliable.
Recently appeared that the Duolingo staff had manipulated this "fluency %" for testing purposes
(https://www.duolingo.com/comment/22225104), and since then .........

  • many people had a drop in their Duolingo fluency %.
  • the strength in the word tab is unreliable
  • skills strength is decreasing much faster than before
  • the fluency % is decreasing much faster than before

Do not worry about it anymore. Just keep enjoying the course.

I had noticed this issue a while ago, and just stopped worrying about it. I'm to what our HS Spanish teacher would call her second-year course, but my percentage is at 1%, and has been stuck there for 2-3 weeks. I figure it's either broken, unreliable ... or both.
